The Dufour 40 sleeps up to 9 people in 3 double cabins and the saloon, comprising:
- Fwd cabin with large side access double berth, storage beneath the berth, seating area, hanging locker and shelving, large locker forward, 2 opening hatches and anchor windlass remote control
- 2 Double aft cabins with hanging locking and shelving, opening hatch and portlight. The port cabin has access to the batteries and a water tank beneath the berth. The stb'd cabin has the diesel tank beneath
- The saloon features a large U shaped settee to port with storage beneath, this berth can convert to a cosy double. To stb'd is a single settee berth with storage beneath. Both sides have outboard lockers and shelving along with attractive hull ports. There is a large central opening hatch and 2 opening portlights giving a lovely overall light feeling
- To port is the L shaped galley with a 2 burner cooker with oven, huge coolbox with very efficient isotherm fridge unit, Bowl and a half SS Sink with H/C pressurised water system, additional manual footpump, ample storage above and below the worktop including cutlery drawer, pan drawer and special drawer cupboard. There is an opening portlight above and even the original Dufour branded cutlery and crockery
- To stb'd is the head, Jabsco sea toilet with holding tank, moulded basin and worktop with H/C water and shower with drain pump. Opening portlight gives light and ventilation
- The Nav station is to stb'd with a large chart table, storage within, navigators seat with further storage beneath, space for nav equipment, books etc, Electrical control panel and gauges and space for mounting electronics
- Externally is a large safe cockpit with a good sized locker either side and several safety line points. The aft seat behind the wheel folds down to make a transom gateway to the swim platform and cockpit shower (H/C)
